RESCHEDULED Vacant to Vibrant: Access and Assemble Parcels for Redevelopment

Taking control of vacant land can seem confusing and out of reach. This is why we are hosting a workshop to walk you through processes for researching, acquiring, and assembling abandoned land for block-level housing, businesses, and green space revitalization.

We will cover:

• How to ACCESS: How to identify the right parcels and use free, public tools to find out who really owns a property, its tax status, and why this matters.

  
  

• How to ACQUIRE: The three (3) main paths to get control of a lot: City of Gary, the Lake County Tax Sales, and direct purchase.

  
  

• How to REDEVELOP: The first steps for turning your vision, whether it's a community garden, a new home, or a local business, into a concrete plan.
